Happy 1st Birthday Noa!
It really does seem like it was only a week ago that we were anxiously awaiting Noa's arrival. I couldn't wait for Jon and Jo to experience the awesomeness that is becoming a mommy and daddy!! It is such a pure joy that is hard to describe, and you want everyone to experience it.
I had never experienced waiting in the hospital for a baby's birth before...so it was incredibly fun! My only other experience was delivering my own child, ha! Which--don't get me wrong--was THE most amazing experience of my life...but it was nice not to be the one in labor. ;)
We were all betting on how much he would weigh, when he would be born, etc. Robbie entertained everyone with his trash basketball skills. Our big crew took up almost the entire waiting room, ha! The anxiousness/excitement in the air could have been cut with a knife, especially once we knew she was ready to push.
Besides meeting Noa for the first time, my favorite memory is when our friend Kim and I were keeping Johanna company (to give Jon a tiny break). The nurse came in to check Jo's progress, and she told us to go get Jon now. Kim and I sprinted to the waiting room giddy with excitement, and Jon's eyes got huge when he saw us running. We shouted, "Go Jon, go!" And he took off. :)
It felt like an eternity waiting to see Jon appear with the good news. All of us took turns "forgetting something" or "trying to find the elevators" as a guise to walk by their room. On my turn, I saw the nurse wheel the baby scale out so I knew he had arrived!
And now we are so blessed to do it again in mid-May, waiting for yet-to-be-named baby girl to arrive. Yay!!!
Other than that, it's been pretty quiet around here. Until yesterday, we've had ah-mazingly warm weather so we've been taking full advantage of outside play. I love that Maverick wants to go outside and play in the backyard first thing in the morning (well, at least when its warm). I really miss the baby stage, but now that he is older everything is so much more fun!
We go out and Maverick loves to jump-throw his baseballs and tennis balls up in the air. Poor unsuspecting Belle usually ends up getting hit a few times, ha! But she loves that Mav likes to play tug-o-war with her and gets her revenge by pulling him down. :)
With this tease of warm weather, we sure are getting spring baseball fever! Can't wait!!!
Mav has lately been adamant about wearing a helmet when he rides his bike. Except he likes to wear daddy's...backwards. :) We're hoping that he never thinks it's lame to wear one...being in the bike business we hear a lot of stories that end with "if they were only wearing a helmet".
Pay no attention to the mark on the wall from where Belle likes to sleep...ha ha! Besides we're still in the middle of re-painting and putting in new floor boards. It's just taking 600 times longer than originally planned. ;)
Happy Super Bowl weekend! Who am I kidding...we're baseball fans!
Happy Yummy Party Food and Commercials weekend!
